    Spice Bush

"The Spicebush, Lindera bezoin, is a native deciduous shrub with a broad, rounded habit which typically grows 6-12' high. Clusters of tiny, aromatic, greenish-yellow flowers bloom along the branches in early spring before the foliage emerges. Flowers of female plants give way to bright red drupes (to 1/2"" long) which mature in fall and are attractive to birds. Female plants need a male pollinator in order to set fruit, however. Tolerates full shade, but habit becomes more open and wide-spreading."

True Nursery offers trees, plants, shrubs along with ferns and Spice Bush. We have the widest selection of gardening products that includes weeding tools and spring bulbs.

"The Hayscented Fern, Dennstaedtia punctilobula, is very common. It can be identified by its lacy, light-green fronds that feel very slightly sticky to the touch. It often grows in large colonies and appears to be forming a carpet. When the leaves are bruised they smell like fresh mown hay, hence the name. It is an aggressive spreader and is a very popular garden fern. Landscape uses are for borders, massing, specimen and groundcover. This perennial fern grows fast and is deciduous."
